Translation from the Chinese. Tim Davies Landscaping collaborated with architect Jean-mic Perrine to create this garden that responds to the architectural language of the residence and its location opposite Shenton Park Lake. A front water garden in the Chinese tradition is intimately associated with the home’s internal split levels, giving the impression of steppers floating across a water body that appears to flood inside. A rear court with offsets and concealed gutters allows for a consistent internal to external floor finish level. Small hybrid Magnolia, Dracaena draco and Frangipani are dominant plantings, with the mature Frangipani strongly uplit. Surface finishes were selected in close collaboration with Perrine Architects and the client.
